People Are Putting Glitter In Their Vaginas

Women have had to deal with body shaming for decades, but now in the age of social media and memes, women are being shamed for more than their weight – now even your vagina needs some improvement.

With even a teenage girl going through a labiaplasty and waxing becoming the norm, it’s no surprise that companies have been creating products specifically in mind for people with vaginas.

Pretty Woman Inc, has created and is selling so-called “passion dust,” a dissolvable capsule filled with glitter that women are supposed to put inside of their vaginas prior to intercourse.

According to the website, the product “does not induce or create any physical sensations or physically alter your sexual performance. It’s only purpose is to add a sparkle and flavor to your natural vaginal fluids to make the experience of lovemaking that much more fun and enjoyable for you and your partner.”

The idea that your natural vaginal fluid isn’t “delicious” enough is not only offensive, it’s harmful – mentally and physically. Besides giving women the idea that they should be insecure about their bodily fluids, it’s also introducing a product that gynecologists are highly recommending against.

When foreign objects are introduced into a woman’s vagina, her chances of inflammation increase, which can lead to painful discharge and even small wounds inside of the vagina. Besides that, this product could also mess with your natural pH balance, leading to yeast infections… something no one wants.

Companies shouldn’t be creating products like this. It only creates an even more unhealthy environment for women to live in, and for people with little information on the subject, they could severely hurt themselves.

Don’t shame women for something that’s natural.
